We are seeking high energy, creative full stack developers to join our team at ag-analytics (analytics.ag) to develop cutting edge tools and predictive analytics in regenerative agriculture.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience leading commercial software development effortsPrimary activities will involve web application programming and development, reviewing and assessing product requirements, database and server management, and others as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar; 4-8 years’ experience or equivalentMasters in computer science preferred.
Experience with azure, aws, or google cloud, etc.
Ability to design, code, test, debug, and develop tools and documentation, and maintain complex programs, systems and web applicationsAbility to formulate, define system scope and objectives to develop or modify complex software systems.
Ability to organize project teams and direct project activities and document phases of projectsPlan and coordinate data migrations between systems.
Familiarity with analytical modeling approaches and related software a plus.
Experience with distributed data/computing tools (spark, hadoop, etc.) and cloud platforms (azure) a plus.
Strong interpersonal, organization and project management skills, and ability to work as part of a diverse team and independently, while contributing to a high-quality and respectful work environment.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively to colleagues and end-users.
Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment with changing prioritiesAbility to help establish realistic goals and deliver work on schedule.
Previous experience in agricultural or environmental applications is not required but preferredFamiliarity with insurance, finance, and risk management applications a plus.
Self-starter with ability to work creatively to solve problems and identify opportunities as they arise.
Ability to handle confidential information.
A willingness and ability to learn new modeling and programming skills in a multi-disciplinary setting is a must.
Experience with machine learning techniques (e.g., artificial neural networks, etc.) in real-world applications and knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, spatial statistics) and experience with applications a big plus.
