We are looking for an experienced Staff Software Engineer to help mentor and guide the Savings team in Poland, evolving one of the first major expansions of Affirm’s product offerings. What you’ll do- Design and build our Savings platform to grow a major product offering and enable additional use cases like rewards.
- Enhance and refactor core modules of the system to make it more extensible, robust and performant.
- Partner cross-functionally with product and business teams to understand requirements and translate them into scalable and robust solutions.
- Lead technical discussions and plans to improve our overall software quality.
- Plan, design, communicate, and implement software systems with an eye towards robust, extensible architecture.
- Develop technical specifications and decompose the specification into tasks and phases.
- Estimate project work effort and delivery, and create project roadmaps.
- Continuously raise the bar in terms of code quality, performance, and systems design.
- Provide leadership and growth opportunities to team members, develop talent, mentor engineers, and grow the team.
- 8+ years proven experience as a software engineer.
- Ability to synthesize complex business, product, and technical requirements to consistently produce high quality system designs and software.
- Familiarity with deployment and automated testing frameworks.
- Ability to collaborate with your team in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience architecting, building, launching, and maintaining complex products.
- Ambition to change consumer financial services for the better.
- Passion for developing peers through direct mentorship, code review, pairing, group learning sessions, and effective task delegation.
