We're looking for a design leader to join the Activation & Monetization team that is part of the Marketplace org supporting our existing shopping experiences and building the next generation of capabilities and personalization for our customers. You have a breadth of product experience of conceptual design, zero to 1, and iteration with the passion and drive to change in shopping and consumer finance for the better. You’re passionate about holding a high bar for quality and craft. You’re naturally curious about the connection with shopping payments and money by seeking consumer insights and data that can drive better outcomes for our users, merchants and Affirm. You’re opinionated about product strategy down to the pixels and words, and are relentless about improving the quality of experience through experimentation and testing. You partner well with product, engineering, analytics, research and content. You strive for cohesion across the design organization and help drive internal cultural change to champion our users.
What you'll do
- Partner with product and engineering on prioritization of short term to long term results-oriented work that drives impact through high quality and successful execution
- Lead the vision for our shopping experiences, 1+ year out
- Make data-informed decisions based on research insights and analytics to iterate and improve the product experience
- Ensure a high quality of execution from your team

What we look for
- 6+ years combined experience in consumer product/UX design focused roles with mobile-first products; e-commerce is a plus
- 2+ years experience leadership experience with direct reports
- Experience leading innovative product solutions for consumers through foundational insights and iterative testing
- A strong eye for consumer executional craft, an obsession with design details, and the savvy to make trade-offs to get in market to learn
- Strong collaboration with other design leadership including design, research, and content
- Demonstrated operational rigor to improve the culture of the team and uphold the quality and craftsmanship of the work output
- A systems thinking approach to building scaled products
- The ability to leverage and improve the quality of an existing design system
- A demonstrated portfolio of you/your team working cross-functionally, thinking across the experience and shipping successful in-app/web experiences in a fast-paced environment (Required)
Location - Remote Canada
Affirm is proud to be a remote-first company! The majority of our roles are remote and can be located anywhere in the U.S. and Canada (with the exception of the U.S. Territories, Quebec, Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories) unless the job indicates a different global location. We are currently building operations in Spain, Poland, and Australia. Employees in remote roles have the option of working remotely or from an Affirm office in their country of hire, and may occasionally travel to an Affirm office or elsewhere for required meetings or team-building events. Our offices in Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Toronto will remain operational and accessible for anyone to use on a voluntary basis, subject to local COVID-19 guidelines.
